NMDVR Pre-Employment Transition Services Student Trainer Program Application
Program Description
Students ages 14-22 years old are sought for our Pre-Employment Transition Services Student Trainer program, offered in partnership with the NM Division of Vocational Rehabilitation! Student Trainers in this program will assist with the training, grooming, and socializing of Assistance Dogs of the West's service dogs in-training, as well as helping to maintain our training center facility and vehicles. Student Trainers will also work on their own work readiness skills, learn about self-advocacy, and explore future jobs and college/training programs for after high school or college.
These programs are offered at our training centers in Taos and Santa Fe.
Pay for this position is a monthly stipend provided by check from NM Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Schedule varies, based on the student's schedule. Can include after-school hours, weekends, and during-school hours, depending on the particular student.
