Planned Giving

A Gift of a Lifetime

Make a Lasting Contribution to Assistance Dogs of the West (ADW)

Former Board Treasurer and current supporter Spencer Wright has chosen to include ADW in his end-of-life plans. Spencer puppy raised a number of Golden Retrievers for ADW over the years, and is pictured here with sweet Rivkah. He says, “I believe in ADW. I have faith in the organization and its financial integrity. I know that ADW will exist in the future and I would like, in some modest way, to play a part in that future.”

Planning giving is much more than a financial aspiration—it represents a chance to make an enduring impact on the world and pass along the values that have guided your life. Like us, you most likely believe in the core value of respect for the singular bond between humans and dogs and their unique ability to work as a team. Qualities of kindness, gentleness, and respect in training dogs to assist humans define everything we do. This compassionate training approach facilitates the deepest possible bond between humans and animals and makes ADW’s programs models for best practices in social-relationship interactions.

By leaving a gift in your will to ADW, you will help bring dogs and people together in partnerships that are life-changing, allowing us to continue to provide vital services to individuals and communities in need for generations to come.

Gifts for the Future:

A bequest or beneficiary designation to ADW gives you flexibility now while also providing impact in the future. When you make a gift to ADW in your will or trust, or designate ADW as a beneficiary, partial beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of any account, such as a retirement account, life insurance policy, or brokerage account, you enjoy the following benefits:

  • Retain control of your assets during your lifetime
  • Provide for loved ones and ADW
  • Leave a gift of any size
  • May reduce tax burdens for your heirs (beneficiary designations of retirement accounts)
  • Can modify your gift if circumstances change
